Iliad

I love mythology, especially Greek mythology. I suddenly thought of Iliad while reading a text about Pandora's Box at school. Poems in the Iliad passed down from ancient greek. The Iliad is not actually a book. We collected the records we found and turned them into a book. This is why some people say that not all of the poems in the Iliad belong to Homeros. There are many opinions on this. But that's all we have. In the Iliad, a 51-day part of the Trojan War, which lasted for nine years, is told. 

The Trojan War is a war of the gods as well as of the people.The gods supported the people who gave them the most offering, and they argued many times at Olympia.They even setted traps for each other.

I think the most important character in the event was Helen. Helen is the only daughter of Zeus born of a mortal woman. Helen is the most beautiful woman in the world and is married to Menelaus. Helen escapes with Paris and causes the Trojan War. For a simple reason for us, a lot of warriors died. 

The most famous warrior is Achilles. He may have been the character I both loved and hated the most while reading the book. He has moves that you would never guess. But I can say that he is a very impressive warrior. 

The part of the book that surprised me the most was the behavior of the gods. I'm interested in mythology and have done a lot of research. It surprises me every time that the gods are imperfect. Everyone knows what a bad person is like. In the Iliad, the gods are no different from bad people. "You're god, act sensibly!" I wanted to say to every god.

The gods didn't think rationally, but at least among humans Odysseus was a rational person.

I understood the ancient Greek culture. Women were no different from objects for the people of that time. This is so annoying. But that was normal back then. Maybe i would have thought so too if i lived in ancient greece. 

This book is very important and a must read for everyone. People who are new to mythology can easily understand when they read this book. It will give them some idea.

Although it took a long time to finish the book, it was very good and flowing. It was a book that impressed me.

I've been planning to do a big book shopping for the last month. Of course, I know which books to buy in my mind, but this event is still very complicated.
