Ephesus

Greek mythology provided the development of many branches such as philosophy. Learning mythology is my hobby. There are several important cities in Greek mythology. Ephesus is one of them.
Ephesus is an ancient Greek city located in Izmir. It was founded in 6000 BC. Many civilizations have lived here. It became the capital city by the Roman emperor Augustus in the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. The population at that time was over 200,000 people. And people made many structures from marble at that time. Ephesus was one of the most important port and trade cities of that period. People also gave importance to art and culture like Miletus. I think that's why epics like the Iliad remained from the people who lived there.
The city was occupied by the Turks in 1330.The city is still in Turkey and we can visit it.
